HI. This may be the recipe that John R is looking for . It is from
Cooking Down East by Marjorie Standish. It is called Cranberry Crunch.

1 cup quick-cooking oatmeal
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1 stick margarine
1 (1-pound) can whole cranberry sauce

Mix oatmeal, flour and brown sugar together. Cut in the stick of
margarine until mixture is crumbly. Pack 1/2 of this mixture into a
greased 8x8 inch baking pan.

Cover with whole cranberry sauce. Top with the remaining crumb mixture.
Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes. Serve warm, topped with vanilla ice
cream. A very easy and quick dessert and very rich. Enjoy. John from
