American Pottery: USA Pottery USA Pottery Deco Style Console Bowl Candle Holders Pretty soft blue Deco Style Console Bowl and Candle Holder has a clean, flowing, free-form shape. This well-made piece measures 12'' long, 4'' tall and approx. 4'' wide, is unmarked but is glazed on the bottom with visible stilt marks. My first guess as to maker would be Haeger or one of the California potteries. (Weller and Roseville also made similar designs). There is a small glaze flake on one side (see pics), tiny glaze pop and a small area on the bottom where the glaze did not cover. Price has been reduced. This console bowl and candle holder looks attractive by itself or filled with flowers and candle.

Occupied & Made in Japan: MIJ – Spice Set – Chick Design Cute spice set with a yellow chick on the end of what look to be volumes of books and the spice name is on each as well as the volume number in Roman numerals. Most likely would date to the 1940’s thru the 1950’s. Each marked Japan on the bottom. Missing the corks, or they are pushed inside. Each measure 3-5/16th inches height, 2-1/2 inches length, and 1-1/4 inch width, with 5 holes on top and a fill hole in the bottom. Nice vintage condition, with a pleasing chick pattern which resembles the one used by Roseville.

McCoy. They began to manufacture and sell functional and decorative stoneware. They also mined, bought and sold clay. This part of their business provided clay to many of the area potteries for several years. In May of that year they contracted for the construction of a building and purchased the equipment necessary to produce the products in large quantity. They selected the Roseville area because of the availability of clay and the land that the city donated free of cost.

Robinson Ransbottom Pottery aka RRP Roseville: Pottery Antique Ransbottom Pickle Crock For sale is an antique Robinson Ransbottom stoneware handled crock. Great item! It has some age flaws, but still looks and displays good! The flaws are considered insignificant since they do not affect stance or display value; if they were major chips or cracks, it would not even be for sale. Flaws: it has some pits in glaze, (common); one hole in the glaze in the bottom rim, (doesn't go through to interior & doesn't show); crazing on interior bottom; a 1.5 inch crackle area on front near bottom pic #7; a fleabite on finial; and some small chippies on underside of lid. Great red painted wood handles. Made in the 1920's. Has #2 Crown logo. Measures 12 inches up to rim or 13 up to finial x 7.5 wide. A hard to find item! A smaller size one like this would have been for preserves; this may have been for pickles. Shipping via parcel post insured due to weight & size. Robinson Ransbottom Pottery aka RRP Roseville: Pottery Robinson Ransbottom Pottery Pedestal For sale is a nice blended glaze vintage Robinson Ransbottom Pottery Pedestal. (RRP is no longer in business). No chips or cracks, but does have some spots on rim where brown glaze did not adhere to the clay, however, it does have glaze over these spots. This is called the 'flowers' pattern, and it was made from an old Weller mold, (RRP bought the Weller molds when Weller closed in the 1940's). It is shown in the RRP book. This pedestal stands 13.5 tall x 8.5 wide across bottom and 6 wide at top. These pedestals also make great tables, just set a round piece of glass on the top instead of a jardinaire! Any of the green/brown blended pottery will look good on this pedestal. Shipping via parcel post insured due to weight & size. USA destinations only. dd-au-1/4-CC-V

Mixing_Bowls, Casseroles, Beanpots: Kitchen_Collectibles Vintage USA Beanpot and Face Mugs For sale is a vintage USA beanpot and face mugs. Heavy-duty brown glazed bean pot with incised USA mark on bottom. No chips or cracks, just some pinpops on this beauty! You also get 4 cute beanpot face mugs/cups with it! These mugs all have faces on them, and the USA incised mark. Not sure which American pottery company made these, but could be Watt, McCoy, RRP Roseville, or another great company. The mugs are in good condition too, no chips or cracks, although one of them has a black spot on one eye, (not sure what that is), and a noticeable spot where brown glaze missed, but there is clear glaze over it, so this is a factory flaw. The beanpot stands 6.25 tall, and is 8.5 wide. The mugs are 3.5 wide at top rim, and 3.5 tall. You can serve up some hot chili in these cuties! The bean pot and mugs do not appear to have ever been used, and were purchased separately, but I thought they went great together!

McCoy Pottery: Kitchen_Collectibles McCoy Pottery Advertising Beanpot F0r sale is a unique McCoy Pottery advertising beanpot. c.1974-1985. Has incised mark: #341 McCoy LCC USA, (LCC stands for Lancaster Colony Co., which operated McCoy from 1974-1985, see books for all the McCoy marks). This beanpot is in very good condition and reads: Durgin Park Market - Dining - Rooms USA. I ran across an old Durgin Park Market pamphlet somewhere and apparently there is a restaurant in Boston called Durgin Park and they use a lot of these stoneware style beanpots. I recently sold one Durgin Park beanpot that was made by the RRP Roseville Co. too. Most of the great American pottery companies like McCoy, RRP, Zanesville, made crocks, beanpots, cheese crocks etc., for other companies, with the company logos on them, like this one! Therefore, this is a great cross-collectible item: Advertising & McCoy Pottery! This beanpot has no chips or cracks and is 6.5 tall x 7.5 wide. 1.05esa#

Vases and Planters: Robinson Ransbottom Jardinière Planter Flower Pot This is a vintage Robinson Ransbottom jardinière. We believe this jardinière dates to the 1950’s. This planter features a nice raised flower pattern around the outside and is turquoise in color. The flower appears to be the Dogwood. This jardinière measures 7 inches wide by 5 ¾ inches tall. A good size for indoors or out. This RRPCo planter has no chips or cracks; has some pin pops on body and glaze misses, all from when it was made. There are some crazing, scale, and dirt on the inside from use. This jardinière flowerpot is incised on the bottom: R.R.P. Co., Roseville Ohio No. 357- 7. Stoneware & Saltglaze: Pottery Vintage Stoneware Insulators stoneware For sale are two vintage stoneware insulators, (2 for one price!) These are two old heavy duty insulators. Don't ask me how they were used, I just know they are called insulators. I use similar ones as hurricane lamps at my summer outdoor parties because they are so heavy, won't all over, and fit a candle in them quite nicely! Both are marked under the glaze: one is marked with an R in a circle, (could be an old Roseville Pottery mark, as most of the old American companies made these types of things too); other is marked: PINCO 63. Each are a bit different in terms of size and glaze color, but are still nice to use together. You can even use them indoors on a table if you have any of the brown dishes put out by McCoy, RRP, Watt, Hull, etc., or as indoor hurricanes too! Also look good just sitting next to other vintage stoneware items.

Stoneware: Vintage Stoneware Fireproof Bowl / Baking Dish Vintage Stoneware Bowl or Baking Dish with stippled heart design and bristol glazed interior. This bowl / baking dish is very similar in design to Roseville Pottery's Venetian line but I have not been able to determine the actual maker. The bottom has a raised rim and 3 horizontal raised feet in the center. Incised TRADEMARK, FIREPROOF, ACID PROOF, DURABLE on the bottom. Measures 9'' in diameter and 3'' tall. On the top rim an area appears to have been sliced off (see pictures) during manufacture and another smaller section right beside it that may be part of that boo, or possibly a shallow chip from use--it's hard to tell because it blends with the colors. There are faint use marks inside and slight darkening from use on the bottom. For its age and original usage, this bowl is actually in very good condition. This stoneware bowl / baking dish's distinctive design is not one that is seen often and will make a great addition to a vintage stoneware collection.

AMERICAN ART POTTERY & UNSIGNED PIECES: ADORABLE EARLY ANTIQUE BABY DISH w LITTLE CHICK n WORM! I call this little baby dish "Early Bird Gets the Worm". Dating to the early 1900s, probably 1920s or 30s, this nice heavy American Art Pottery feeding bowl measures about 7" in diameter and 1 3/8" tall/ It is old and has been lovingly used, no maker's mark on the bottom. The dish is shaped like the early Roseville juvenile ware pieces that are so rare and sought after, and it is probably about the same age. It's white with a thin blue pinstripe around the lip and a decal of a baby chick in a pastoral setting in the center. The little chicken is looking at the ground at a little worm. Behind the bird are little purple flowers that look like violets. The little bowl or plate has a hairline, as shown in the pictures, on the lip, plus some little nicks around the edge and on the bottom. The bottom of the bowl show scratches where some little tyke certainly enjoyed his or her cereal. Despite this, the decal is still amazingly intact and truly endearing. Sold in AS FOUND condition, this is a warm and lovely collectible antique piece that wouold be great as part of a collection of baby feeding bowls and American Art pottery from the depression era.

Stoneware: USA Pottery Early Brushware Stoneware Flower Pot Early Brushware Stoneware Flower Pot with unglazed tan interior and blue/green brushed color accents over embossed floral swags. Base is drilled for drainage and flowerpot would have originally had a saucer to match. This style of pottery was made in the late 1920s and 1930s by various American potteries such as Red Wing, Monmouth, Burley Winter, Brush-McCoy, Roseville and Weller. Unmarked except for an incised number 4. There is a small glaze pop on the interior and small glaze flake on the interior rim which is not very noticeable as it blends with the overall color of the clay. There is some paint rubbing on the top rim--maybe from use or from manufacture as the potteries were not always perfectionists regarding glazes applied. These were transitional pieces from early stoneware to the later decorative art ware. Early Brushware Flower Pots can be hard to find.

American Pottery Porcelain : Book American Art Pottery Ohr Rookwood Weller Etc. Beautifully illustrated in color and black-and-white, this authoritative text provides an in-depth pictorial summary of American art pottery. AMERICAN ART POTTERY FROM THE COLLECTION OF EVERSON MUSEUM OF ART by Barbara A. Perry, Harry N. Abrams, Inc., Publishers, NY, 1997 is a companion volume to an exhibition held at the Everson Museum of Art, Syracuse, NY, from January 24-August 24, 1997. "For this book, the most thorough to date on the subject, Barbara A. Perry, former curator of ceramics at Everson Museum of Art, Syracuse, New York, has selected 100 of the finest examples of American art pottery from Everson's renowned holdings. Through these superb works-all specially photographed for this book-she traces the development of the movement, providing descriptions of the most prominent potters and designers as well as detailed commentaries on the actual wares. Admirers and collectors of the medium will find much new information about such companies as Rockwood, Weller, Greuby, and Roseville, as well as about some of the outstanding potters, among them Maria Longworth Nichols, Artus Van Briggle, Kataro Shirayamadani, George Ohr, and Adelaide Alsop Robineau, whose famous "Scarab Vase" took 1,000 hours to complete. Complementing the discussion of art pottery are American art tiles of the period, reflecting the country's growing prosperity and reliance on ceramics for building exteriors and interiors." In addition to chapters devoted to major manufactories, attention is given to "industrialization and the craftsman," "women in the art potteries," and "people at work." A fine bibliography rounds out this beautiful book.10 in. x 10 in. hardback with dust cover in protective plastic sleeve in near-new condition. 145 pages.Free media mail shipping and handling for deliveries within the 48 United States. American Pottery Porcelain : Rare In-Depth Book Antique Pottery Porcelain Types Profusely illustrated in color and black-and-white, this early out-of-print book is a definitive guide to the identification of makers, marks, and types of antique pottery and porcelain. COLLECTIBLE CERAMICS by Marcia Ray, Crown Publishers, NY, 1974. Prepared for the American collector, this handy Encyclopedia of more than 350 kinds of ceramics is a concise handbook of the most accurate data currently available. Covered here are 18th century wares, which are most often found in museums; wares of early and late 19th century, generously available in antiques shops; some early 20th century wares, now coming on the antiques market; and a few present-day wares, which are being collected for the future. Ceramics familiar to the beginning collector Wedgwood, Leeds, Royal Copenhagen, Meissen and other favorites are here, but even fuller information is given about many lesser-knowns such as R.S. Prussia, Sleepy-Eye give-aways, McCoy, Roseville, Noritake, and others about which accurate information is hard to find. Most of the photographs were taken especially for this book. Excepting those of museum pieces, and a few from private collections, they purposely do not show unusual examples. Instead, they illustrate the kind of items to be seen today in antiques shops and shows. Topics are arranged alphabetically by maker or production company and presented with many color or black-and-white photos as well as black-and-white line drawings of marks. This book will be a welcome addition to the reference library of any collector, dealer, or historian of antique pottery and porcelain.7.25 in. x 10.25 in. hardback with dust cover in very good condition. 256 pages.Free media mail shipping and handling for deliveries within the 48 United States.
